BRIDGESTONE® PROMOTES TIRE CONSERVATION WITH THE NEW EXTENDED LIFE, HIGH-TRACTION VRQP QUARRY TIRE
LAS VEGAS ( March 16, 2005 ) — Bridgestone Firestone Off Road Tire Company announced today at CONEXPO-CON/AGG the launch of a new quarry tire for the off-road market. The V-Steel Rock Quarry Premium (VRQP) radial tire is designed specifically for rigid haul truck applications, with tire conservation in mind.

The VRQP features extra-deep tread for longer life, innovative tread design for improved traction and reinforced shoulder design for reduced sidewall damage.

“The VRQP design and technology demonstrate Bridgestone's commitment to providing integrated tire solutions,” said Angie Jones, general marketing manager. “Longer tire life means reduced cost-per-mile for our customers, resulting in lower tire usage. The overall costs will be decreased; and, therefore, tire resources will be conserved.”

The 2400R35 will be available in North America in the second quarter of 2005, and the 1800R33 will be available in the second half of 2005.
