LAS VEGAS (March 16, 2005) —Bridgestone Firestone Off Road Tire Company announced today at CONEXPO-CON/AGG the addition of a new radial tire to the off-road market. The Bridgestone V-Steel L-Traction (VLT), designed specially for scraper applications, includes improved technology to promote longer tire life.
The VLT features a design with a buttress shoulder that not only offers excellent traction, but also provides improved durability and resistance to shoulder cuts. In addition, the 2005 design has a large contact footprint for exceptional traction and flotation, and improved rider comfort.
“The new VLT radial scraper tire provides significant value to our customers because it offers them a product that will resist cutting and therefore last longer,” said Angie Jones, general marketing manager. “The extended life of the VLT contributes to lower costs per mile, which means that fewer tires are required. This will ultimately result in cost savings, while tire resources are also conserved.”
The VLT is available now in a 33.25R29 size. In the second quarter of 2005, the 37.25R35 will be available, followed by a new 40.5/75R39 in the third quarter of this year.
